Phlebotomist

Location: Youngstown, OH |
Schedule: Contract, on-site, Mon Tues Thursday 7-5, Wednesday 8-6, Fridays off |

A healthcare provider is seeking a phlebotomist for a contract engagement lasting approximately 2 to 3 months. This role involves working independently in a GYN office, playing a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient specimen collection and processing for patient care.

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge samples
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures
• Update patient information as needed
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes (e.g., urine, fecal) clearly and courteously
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Understand and follow physicians' orders fully
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
• Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy
• Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures

• 1 to 2 years experience as a phlebotomist
• Ability to work alone in a GYN office setting
• Experience with venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
• Minimum of 1 year experience
