Facilities Technician

Tuesday - Saturday 3pm-11pm, Full-Time

The Facilities Technician supports the mission, vision, and values of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation by performing high-quality custodial and facility support services.

• Perform daily custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom cleaning, trash removal, and surface disinfecting.
• Clean and sanitize locker rooms, restrooms, fitness areas, hallways, offices, classrooms, and common areas according to department standards.
• Maintain stock levels of paper products, soap, and cleaning supplies; restock as needed.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, stages, and equipment for programs, rentals, and special events based on provided layouts or instructions.
• Respond promptly to custodial emergencies such as spills, biohazard cleanups, accidents, or weather‑related issues.
• Conduct routine building walkthroughs to identify cleaning needs, damaged equipment, or safety concerns, and notify the Facilities Coordinator or maintenance staff.
• Assist with basic facility tasks such as replacing light bulbs, refilling dispensers, and minor touch‑ups within the scope of custodial work.
• Perform outdoor tasks such as sweeping entrances, picking up debris, and light seasonal grounds care.
• Follow all safety procedures, including chemical handling, PPE usage, and equipment operation.
• Communicate effectively with the Facilities Coordinator, maintenance team, coworkers, and program staff.
• Provide courteous and helpful service to members, guests, and staff.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior custodial, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean and orderly spaces.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
