The President & Chief Executive Officer provides strategic, financial, operational, and external leadership for the Youngstown organization.

Reporting to the governing board, the President is responsible for building the organization, launching and expanding healthcare workforce programs, developing a high-performing team, establishing community and employer partnerships, securing public and philanthropic investment, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance, and creating a financially sustainable institution focused on exceptional student and workforce outcomes.

• Provide overall organizational leadership and strategic direction.
• Build the organizational infrastructure, systems, policies, and culture required for a successful startup institution.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team.
• Develop strong relationships with healthcare employers, community organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and philanthropic partners.
• Establish the organization as a trusted healthcare workforce partner throughout the Mahoning Valley.
• Lead fundraising, grant development, donor cultivation, government relations, and public relations.
• Develop and oversee annual budgets, financial performance, internal controls, and long-term financial sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Lead and support institutional accreditation, regulatory approvals, and continuous quality improvement.
• Use data to evaluate enrollment, completion, credential attainment, placement, retention, financial performance, and organizational impact.
• Work closely with the governing board on strategy, financial oversight, risk management, and organizational growth.
• Promote a culture centered on student success, accountability, innovation, equity, and measurable workforce outcomes.

During the first year, the President will be expected to:

• Work hand-in-hand with YoROC's Governing Board of Community leaders.
• Build the foundational systems and culture of the organization.
• Recruit and develop the initial leadership and instructional team.
• Establish strong relationships with healthcare employers and community partners.
• Advance regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Successfully launch initial healthcare workforce programs.
• Develop a sustainable fundraising and revenue strategy.
• Establish clear organizational and student outcome metrics.
• Build visibility and credibility throughout Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

• Bachelor's degree required;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Five to ten years of progressive leadership experience.
• Experience in a nonprofit organization, workforce development organization, or postsecondary educational institution required.
