Tool Room Machinist – 1st Shift – Direct Hire
Kelly is seeking a skilled Tool Room Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Youngstown, Ohio. This position is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining custom vinyl extrusion tooling and related production tooling used throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong manual machining skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to producing high-quality tooling that supports efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities- Prepare raw stock materials for machining operations.
- Machine a variety of components according to blueprints, specifications, and tooling requirements.
- Build, repair, modify, and maintain custom vinyl extrusion tooling and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement repairs or revisions as needed.
- Assist with tooling assembly and disassembly for maintenance and production support.
- Operate manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, saws, and other machine shop equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of machine shop equipment.
- Order replacement parts, tooling, and machine shop supplies as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other projects as assigned.
- Previous experience as a Tool Room Machinist, Toolmaker, or Precision Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manual machining processes and equipment.
- Experience operating manual and conversational vertical milling machines, manual lathes, saws, and related machine shop equipment.
- Experience with Prototrak Edge controllers is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a small team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
