Position Overview
We are looking for passionate and detail-oriented individuals to join our production team as Upholstery Trainees
. With dedicated on-the-job training, you'll master the art of upholstery, starting from the basics and advancing to a highly skilled Upholsterer. Once fully trained, you can earn up to $30.00 per hour

Learn and apply techniques for preparing upholstery materials, including the use of ring flex to prep backs.
:
Assist in preparing surfaces for gluing, including applying gluing to seat covers and ensuring proper adhesion.
:
Learn to apply plastic extruded edges along frames to ensure a neat and durable finish.
:
Support the assembly of upholstered furniture components, including aligning and attaching materials according to specifications.
:
Inspect completed upholstery work to ensure it meets quality standards, making necessary adjustments as directed by the Upholstery Supervisor.
:
Maintain and clean upholstery tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and reporting any issues to the Upholstery Supervisor.
:
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to upholstery work, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of materials and tools.

Track and record daily work progress and productivity, entering relevant data into the ERP system to monitor performance and ensure accurate reporting of production metrics.
:
Work efficiently to meet production rates and targets, collaborating with the team to ensure that upholstery tasks are completed on time and contribute to overall production goals.
:
Work collaboratively with other upholstery team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production processes.
:
Continuously seek feedback and guidance from experienced staff to improve upholstery skills and knowledge, demonstrating a commitment to learning and development.
The Upholstery Trainee at Gasser Chair is expected to perform job duties primarily in a manufacturing environment. The role requires the ability to stand up to 10 hours per day, lift and move upholstery materials and tools, and work with hands and manual tools. The ability to work in various positions, including bending and reaching, is essential. The role also requires good visual acuity for inspecting work and attention to detail in performing tasks.
