Position Overview:Gasser Chair is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power Coat Associate to support the production of high-quality custom seating products within our manufacturing operations.
This role is responsible for applying powder coating to various components and ensuring that all powder coating processes are carried out accurately and in compliance with quality specifications. This role involves preparing items for coating, operating coating equipment, and performing quality checks.
This position is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products.
Responsibilities:- Powder Coating Application:
Apply powder coating to components and products according to company specifications and quality standards. - Preparation:
Prepare items for coating by cleaning, masking, and ensuring surfaces are properly prepped. - Equipment Operation:
Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens, to apply coatings evenly and efficiently. - Quality Control:
Inspect coated items for defects, such as uneven coverage or contamination, and make necessary adjustments to achieve quality standards. - Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on powder coating equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimal downtime. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while handling powder coating materials and operating equipment. - Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of powder coating activities, including material usage and production metrics. - Process Improvement:
Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the powder coating process. - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members to coordinate activities and ensure that production targets are met. - Cleanup:
Clean and maintain the work area, including equipment and tools, to ensure a safe and organized workspace.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in powder coating is a plus.
- Previous experience in powder coating or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with powder coating equipment and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
The Powder Coat Associate position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in environments with varying temperatures and conditions. The role involves manual dexterity for operating equipment and handling coated items. The associate must be able to perform tasks such as cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment.
