Weld Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Location: Youngstown, OH
Pay: Starting at $24.00+ per hour (based on experience)
Shift: 3rd Shift / Overnight

Position Summary

ISC is seeking a motivated and experienced Weld Supervisor to lead our 3rd Shift manufacturing team in Youngstown, Ohio. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position serves as the primary point of contact for welding, machining, and paint-related production issues during overnight operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising production personnel, maintaining safety and quality standards, coordinating workflow, and ensuring production goals are achieved efficiently and effectively.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily activities of the welding team during 3rd shift operations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for welding, machining, and paint-related production issues.
• Manage employee attendance, timekeeping, and workforce scheduling.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching, training, and development.
• Enforce company policies and administer progressive discipline when necessary.
• Delegate production assignments and monitor workflow to ensure production targets are met.
• Train and mentor new and existing employees on processes, safety, and quality standards.
• Inspect materials, equipment, and work areas to identify operational issues or equipment malfunctions.
• Promote and enforce a safe work environment while supporting all company safety initiatives.
• Oversee production machining orders and coordinate activities between departments as needed.
• Assist with CNC machine programming and operation when required.
• Create, update, and maintain machining procedures and controlled documentation.
• Ensure employees understand and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report safety hazards and concerns to management promptly.
• Participate in and support monthly production and safety meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with welding processes and fabrication operations.
• Understanding of machining operations, machine setup, CNC programming, G-Code, and conversational programming.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and employee coaching skills.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience planning, scheduling, and managing production workflow.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
