Registered Nurse; RN - Correctional House Supervisor

Job Overview

Core Civic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Correctional House Supervisor in Youngstown, Ohio. Specialty:
House Supervisor. This is an ongoing staff position with a salary of $117,800 per year.

• Report directly to the Warden/Facility Administrator or Health Service Administrator for daily clinical operations within the medical department.
• Manage and supervise daily nursing/clinical activities.
• Supervise nursing and non‑licensed health care providers, including training new employees, evaluating performance, preparing written performance appraisals, resolving complaints, taking corrective or disciplinary action, developing work schedules, and approving leave requests.
• Provide direct patient care within scope of licensure; apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Ensure adequate staffing; fill in as needed during short staffing; perform nursing duties such as executing physician’s orders, assisting in examinations and treatments, dispensing and administering medications, treating emergencies, screening patients for referrals, and performing intakes.
• Perform triage and physical assessments.
• Perform and direct emergency care and procedures as needed, and call the Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders.

• Graduate from an accredited college or university nursing program with a diploma/degree in nursing.
• Possess current licensure in the state of employment.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience required; one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication skills and strong knowledge base of clinical nursing and basic management principles.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment.
• Minimum age 18 years.
