Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) at Park Vista Care Community, Youngstown, OH 44504. Full‑time, Night Shift – 12 hour.

Education:

Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Salary: $37.00 – $40.00 per hour. No travel required. The RN provides direct, compassionate care to patients or residents in a long‑term care or assisted living setting, assesses needs, creates and implements care plans, administers medications, collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and ensures optimal patient safety and well‑being.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care:
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patient or resident health status, including physical, mental, and emotional health.
    • Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
    • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders, facility policies, and regulatory guidelines.
    • Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as needed, reporting changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare team members.
  • Clinical Procedures:
    • Perform wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and respiratory treatments in accordance with facility protocols and best practices.
    • Provide patient and family education on medications, treatments, and lifestyle adjustments to promote health and wellness.
    • Assist with diagnostic testing, monitor vital signs, and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities.
  • Medication Administration:
    • Safely administer medications and treatments, following the five rights of medication administration.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration and promptly report any adverse reactions or errors.
    • Monitor and manage medications for patients with chronic conditions or complex medication regimens.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR) or other required formats.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies related to patient care and documentation.
    • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain and improve the standard of care.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care.
    • Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
    • Participate in care conferences and team meetings to discuss patient progress, care plans, and necessary adjustments.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing life‑saving interventions such as CPR, airway management, and advanced resuscitation measures as necessary.
    • Assist in stabilizing and transferring patients to higher levels of care when required.
  • Patient Advocacy:
    • Advocate for the rights and needs of patients, ensuring they receive respectful, compassionate, and person‑centered care.
    • Provide emotional support to patients and families, helping them navigate difficult health situations and decisions.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare, long‑term care, or acute care setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical and assessment skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective care plans.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient‑centered approach to care.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
    • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and nursing documentation.
    • Knowledge of nursing best practices, medications, and safety protocols.
