Schedule: 5x8, Days, No Weekends or Holidays

Job Type: Full-time | Days

Mercy Youngstown Behavioral Health, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Mercy Health, seeks an Educator & Infection Prevention RN to enhance patient care and safety. The role focuses on infection control, education, and compliance throughout the 72-bed behavioral health facility.

• Annually review and revise the hospital infection control plan.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to conduct the antimicrobial stewardship program.
• Educate and coach staff on infection procedures, CDC preventive measures, hand hygiene, blood‑borne pathogens, and current community infections.
• Ensure timely flu vaccination and monitor compliance for staff and patients.
• Monitor staff and patient PPD testing, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely testing.
• Monitor needle‑stick incidents and create preventative plans to eliminate accidents.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of infection control regulations (TJC, CMS, Medicaid, state and federal laws) and ensure hospital compliance.

• Current Ohio RN license.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school or certified Infection Control Practitioner.
• Complete APIC EPI Course and become a member of APIC within 30 days of hire.
• Prior infection control experience (preferred).
