Correctional Healthcare Registered Nurse

Must be available any day of the week. Schedule will be provided xibility with shifts, hours, and days is required based on facility needs.

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in a structured correctional healthcare setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while maintaining professional standards.

This position is located within a correctional facility. Employees will work in a secure environment around incarcerated individuals.

• Provide patient care as directed by medical providers
• Administer medications and monitor medication compliance
• Perform treatments and assist with nurse and physician sick call
• Support chronic care clinic management
• Conduct subjective and objective patient assessments
• Collect and document vital signs and clinical findings in a timely manner
• Collect urine and other bodily fluid specimens as required
• Respond to medical emergencies, including providing CPR and emergency care
• Prepare patients for release or transfer by completing transfer/discharge summaries and ensuring medication orders are processed
• Review shift reports and ensure continuity of care
• Assist physicians with medical procedures
• Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention
• Participate in quality assurance activities and required training

• Provide guidance and work direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
• Serve as a clinical resource for healthcare staff as directed by the Nursing Supervisor
• Serve as lead clinical authority on site in the absence of designated leadership (HCA, QIC, Medical Director, or Advanced Practice Provider)
• Assist with shift assignments and adjustments as needed
• Participate in group programming and health and wellness activities

• Complete required documentation and reports
• Attend meetings and required training sessions
• Assist with inventory and ordering of medical supplies
• Support ancillary staff to ensure patient care needs are met
• Adhere to professional conduct standards and all institutional policies

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Ohio
