Travel RN – CVOR | Days

Position: RN – CVOR / Surgical Services
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: Days | Monday–Friday
Hours: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 8-hour shifts
Occasional Start: As early as 5:30 AM depending on cardiac case schedule
Local Candidates: Not accepted

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac/CVOR experience
• At least 1–2 years of general OR experience
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Must be comfortable circulating both cardiac and general surgical cases

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Study guide available

Unit includes:

• 2 CVORs
• Hybrid room for TAVR procedures
• Approximately 2–6 cases per day
• Approximately 6 open-heart cases per week

• CABG
• TAVR
• Pericardial windows
• VATS
• Open thoracic procedures
• General surgery

Cardiac RNs may circulate general OR cases as needed.

On a 6-week schedule, cardiac RNs typically cover approximately 10–12 call shifts
.

Call generally includes:

• 1–2 weekends per 6-week schedule
• 1–2 weekday call shifts per week during the 6-week period
• 30-minute call response time
• Call rooms may be arranged if needed

RN will manage perioperative nursing care, including:

• Pre-op, intra-op, and post-op assessment and care
• OR circulation and coordination of the surgical team
• Maintaining patient safety and aseptic technique
• Opening sterile supplies and anticipating scrub team needs
• Operating surgical equipment
• Assisting anesthesia during induction and emergence
• Patient positioning, prepping, Foley placement, IVs, and other procedures
• Accurate documentation and surgical records
• Monitoring the OR environment for adherence to sterile technique
• Safe patient transport and handoff

• CNOR
• Completion of Periop 101 / OR internship
• Previous travel experience

This is a cardiac-heavy CVOR role requiring strong hands‑on cardiac circulating experience. The ideal candidate is comfortable with CABG and TAVR cases, can also circulate general surgery, and is able to meet a 30-minute call response requirement
