We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer (SrQE) to play a critical leadership role in strengthening plant-level quality, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring customer requirements are consistently met. Your Role at a Glance

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will serve as a technical and cultural leader within the plant's Quality organization, aligning internal processes with customer expectations while driving sustainable improvement.

* Champion safety-first behaviors and embed "fail-safe" thinking into quality routines

* Translate the Voice of the Customer into actionable improvement targets (Claims, NCRs, NQC).

* Lead and own the 8D problem-solving process, ensuring depth, rigor, and long-term prevention.

* Analyze quality metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive strategic improvement roadmaps.

* Partner with Process Engineering, Production, and OpEx teams on defect-reduction initiatives.

* Conduct statistical analysis to identify root causes and guide data-driven countermeasures.

* Serve as a quality systems gatekeeper, ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory standards.

* Support and coordinate internal audits and post-corrective-action verification.

* Lead cross-functional quality projects without direct authority, influencing outcomes through expertise.

* Coach and mentor others in quality tools, methods, and mindset.

* Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Quality Manager.

* Promote deployment and sustainability of the Drive+ Quality Technical System.

What Sets You Apart

We're looking for a confident quality leader with strong technical depth and the ability to influence at all levels:

* Minimum 10 years of manufacturing quality experience, preferably in heavy industry or steel.

* Deep working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, 8D, Six Sigma).

* Strong analytical capability, including statistical data analysis.

* Experience driving quality improvements across cross-functional teams.

* Hands-on knowledge of quality management systems and compliance standards.

* Ability to clearly communicate, coach, and motivate others.

* Proven ability to lead through influence rather than authority.

* Self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Education & Certifications

* Bachelor's degree required (Engineering or quality-related discipline)

* Master's degree preferred

* CQE or equivalent certification preferred

* ISO / API Q1 Auditor or Lead Auditor certification preferred

* Willingness to learn new standards deeply if not already familiar

Work Environment & Travel

* Primarily sedentary with frequent computer-based analytical work

* Occasional travel (~10%) for customer engagement, benchmarking, and cross-site collaboration
