Position Overview

Gasser Chair is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Inspector who is responsible for performing visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products throughout the manufacturing process. This position ensures compliance with company specifications, customer requirements, engineering drawings, and established quality standards.

The Quality Assurance Inspector identifies non-conforming conditions, documents inspection results, supports corrective action activities, and works collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve product quality and manufacturing processes. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, effective communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Specific responsibilities of this position will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Product Inspections:
    Perform visual and functional inspections of incoming materials, upholstered components, subassemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with company standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Pre-Assembly Inspections:
    Inspect materials and components prior to assembly to identify defects, workmanship concerns, or specification deviations before additional labor and value are added to the product.
  • Final Product Inspections:
    Conduct final product inspections prior to shipment to ensure products meet established quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Quality Documentation:
    Accurately complete inspection reports, quality checklists, non-conformance reports, and other quality-related documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Non-Conformance Management:
    Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming materials and products while ensuring proper segregation and disposition in accordance with established processes.
  • Corrective Action Support:
    Assist with investigating recurring quality issues, gathering supporting information, documenting findings, and supporting implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Production Floor Presence:
    Maintain an active presence throughout the manufacturing facility to monitor quality, answer questions, and provide real-time support to production personnel and supervisors.
  • Quality Standards Reinforcement:
    Reinforce workmanship standards and product quality expectations by working directly with associates and leadership to ensure consistent application of quality requirements.
  • Trend Monitoring:
    Monitor recurring defects and quality concerns, communicate trends to leadership, and help identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Partner with engineering, production, supply chain, and operations leadership to address quality concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • ERP and Quality System Support:
    Utilize ERP systems and other quality tracking tools to document findings, maintain records, and support reporting requirements.
  • Employee Communication:
    Communicate quality concerns, expectations, and inspection findings clearly and professionally to associates, supervisors, and management.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, reduce defects, improve workmanship, and enhance overall product quality.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer specifications, work instructions, and established quality procedures.
