Maintenance Technician

Youngstown Area Goodwill is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our retail stores, warehouses, and administrative facilities. This is a full-time position working mostly dayshift hours, but occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Frequent travel to all Youngstown Area Goodwill locations is also required. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the environments that power our mission of empowering individuals with barriers to achieve their goals through education, training, and employment.

Our facilities generate the revenue that funds job training and employment services throughout our communities. Keeping them operational, safe, and welcoming directly supports that impact.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and basic electrical systems
• Complete general repairs to fixtures, shelving, doors, flooring, and store infrastructure
• Troubleshoot minor plumbing and electrical issues
• Assist with painting, drywall repair, floor care, signage installation, and seasonal setups
• Support store remodels and facility improvement projects
• Travel between multiple Goodwill locations as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade certification preferred)
• At least one year of general maintenance experience, preferably in retail or commercial settings
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders and utilize other relevant maintenance equipment
