Controls Systems Technician

• Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Load and debug system‑level controller software.
• Conduct basic commissioning and system diagnostics from controllers to end devices such as sensors and actuators.
• Document all commissioning activities and provide as‑built documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls and resolve service‑related items.
• Calibrate systems utilizing basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
• Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Communicate with contractors or customers on arrival and prior to departure from the site.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training; maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to improve facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities, and prepare supporting quotes.

• 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field; or at least 2 years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
• Proficient PC skills and ability to program HVAC‑related software.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally to customers and contacts.
• Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.

Hourly rate: $20‑$28, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Includes a competitive benefits package.
