Job SummaryThe Wiring Technician will drill holes to run new wires, install low‑voltage wiring through new constructions, assemble and install control panels and switches, and test all systems to ensure safe and full functionality.
Job Duties- Reference shop prints to determine equipment installation locations and meet National Electrical Code requirements.
- Install wire ways, conduits and cable trays, and ground electrical equipment in line with customer specifications and NEC code.
- Properly install gear (SWGR, VFDs, ATS, DCS systems, transformers, DC chargers, PLC cabinets, etc.) per engineered drawings.
- Bend conduit and work with EMT and RMC.
- Perform electrical wiring, anchoring, tie‑wrapping, routing, flagging, wire tagging, crimping & wire/cable stripping.
- Assemble and install electrical components such as sub‑panels per drawings.
- Connect electrical wiring between components using wiring prints, schematics and single‑line drawings with hand tools.
- Crimp appropriate lugs to wire ends with a hand crimping device.
- Install wiring, lugs, switches, lights, air‑conditioners, bundle holders, clips and other components in frames or panels per specifications.
- Lay out, route and tie wire to panels using bundles, holders, ducts, and wire ways.
- Measure and cut wire accurately with tape measure and extra length for future connections.
- Position, align and adjust wires and parts to facilitate assembly.
- Attach wire and device labels as shown on prints.
- Level and plumb components and conduit with tape measures and levels.
- Drill, tap, ream, countersink and spot‑face bolt holes using drill presses and portable power drills.
- Notify the lead person or inspector when the product is ready for inspection.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and return tools to proper locations.
- Perform customer site work as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- At least two years experience in hydraulic conduit knockout, conduit threader, manual and power conduit bender, stripper, crimper, drill, screwdriver and other hand tools.
- At least two years experience wiring electrical panels.
- At least two years experience in applicable QAPs (Quality Assurance Procedures).
- Ability to read schematics and wire schedules.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Good analytical, observational and active listening skills.
- High reliability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US work authorization without sponsorship.
- Pass physical, drug, driving and background check.
- Physical capacity to push, pull and lift 50 lbs or more.
- Can stoop and bend for four or more hours at a time.
- Capable of sitting, standing and walking for four or more hours.
- Ability to read a tape measure and electrical point‑to‑point prints.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
