Position Description
Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Youngstown, Ohio offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a technician career you can feel good about.
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus up to $700 for each new ASE certification obtained
- Quarterly bonus up to $500
- Sign‑on bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Second shift 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm;
Monday‑Friday weekdays; weekends off - Medical, dental, and vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO in first year, starting Day 1

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- More than two years of classroom training and/or related work experience
- Valid commercial driver license (Class A preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background check including last 3 years of employment drug/alcohol verification
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures and perform required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine nature of complaints
- Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including service island support
