As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and troubleshooting on equipment and facilities. Your role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of machinery and maintaining a well-functioning working environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment following established procedures and checklists.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in machinery, mechanical equipment, or building systems; troubleshoot issues to identify root causes.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for repairs and resolve issues to minimize downtime and ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Identify and requisition necessary parts, materials, and supplies for maintenance tasks; manage inventory levels efficiently.
- Coordinate with other departments, including production, to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines; implement safety measures during maintenance activities.
- Calibrate and adjust equipment to meet specifications, ensuring precision and reliability in operations.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment, collaborating with other teams as needed.
- Perform maintenance tasks on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure a comfortable and safe indoor environment.
- Address electrical issues, replace faulty components, and ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems.
Other duties may be assigned.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent; 2 or more years experience in a maintenance position within a manufacturing environment.
Skills- Basic mathematical (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Basic understanding of geometry and use of basic measurement tools (tape measure, caliper, micrometer, gauge blocks).
- Understanding of verbal and written instructions; ability to read manufacturing schematics.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit, use hands to feel or handle tools, objects, and controls, and occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include peripheral vision, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional vibration. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Additional Skills or Abilities- Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills.
- Ability to weld and use acetylene torches.
