Ryder System is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Diesel Mechanic to keep our transportation fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. In this role, you'll perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel trucks and trailers, including engines, brakes, electrical, and cooling systems. You'll follow Ryder's safety-first standards, document work in maintenance systems, and support efficient operations for leading brands. Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems for trucks and trailers
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize fleet uptime and reliability
  • Inspect vehicles for safety and DOT compliance, documenting any needed repairs
  • Use diagnostic software, scan tools, and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues
  • Accurately document all work performed in Ryder's maintenance and work order systems
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies in the shop and yard
  • Collaborate with supervisors and drivers to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe working condition
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge with teammates
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current on new technologies and repair procedures
