Youngstown Country Club is looking for a qualified Assistant Superintendent that will work alongside the Superintendent to plan and execute daily operations and evaluate current agronomic programs/procedures. The daily role of the Assistant includes disease and insect scouting, participating in daily maintenance, crew management, irrigation scheduling and repair, and application of pesticides/nutrients. The goal of this position is to prepare the Assistant to be capable of advancing his/her career to a Superintendent position.

• Train Personnel in all aspects of golf course maintenance
• Supervise the crew
• Assist in planning and executing mowing and irrigation schedules
• Assist with pesticide/fertilizer applications and keep records/inventory
• Manage soil moisture levels daily
• Diagnose and repair irrigation system issues and breaks
• Daily scouting for disease

• Qualified candidates including those currently in turf school that expect to graduate in Spring 2025 are encouraged to apply.
• 2-4 year degree in Turf Grass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance practices.
• Strong knowledge of turf grass management practices, irrigation systems, and equipment operation.
• Pesticide applicator's license or ability to obtain one within 6 months time.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.

Salary will be based on experience. Candidates will be offered health insurance after 90 days, 1 week paid vacation.
