Job SummaryAs a Petroleum Transport Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting petroleum products to various locations while adhering strictly to all federal, state, and local regulations. You will operate commercial motor vehicles with a focus on safety and efficiency, ensuring timely deliveries and upholding our company’s high standards.
- Safely load, transport, and deliver petroleum products in an accurate and timely manner.
- Comply with DOT and all applicable regulations while operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV).
- Conduct meticulous pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, inspections, and compliance, both electronically and manually.
- Adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Deliver products to the correct locations and amounts as per customer requirements.
- Maintain necessary credentials and access documentation.
- Exhibit professionalism at all times and represent True North positively.
- Support team operations and be flexible in taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of tanker experience or five years of CMV driving experience (GVWR 26,001 lbs. or greater). A valid CDL Class A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements is necessary.
- Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with company standards.
- Must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
- A maximum of two moving violations in the last three years.
- No serious violations such as reckless operation, DUI, DWI, or DOT disqualifying convictions.
- No failed DOT drug or alcohol tests.
- Pass all required pre-employment screenings.
- Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety certifications.
- TWIC certification may be required at certain locations.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts tailored to business needs.
- Able to work up to 11-hour shifts with strong safety awareness.
- Capacity to operate equipment safely and maintain focus.
- Willingness to travel locally; occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Attendance at required training sessions.
- Able to sit for extended periods while operating a CMV.
- Ability to climb tanker ladders and access trailer heights.
- Capable of lifting and maneuvering equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort with bending, kneeling, and reaching as needed during loading/unloading.
- Work comfortably at various heights and on uneven surfaces.
- Effective communication skills for in-person and phone interactions.
- Work is primarily outdoors and conducted on public roads.
- Regular exposure to diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Frequent interactions at fuel terminals and customer sites with various hazards.
- This position is safety-sensitive, requiring strict adherence to all safety protocols.
- Awareness of traffic hazards and environmental conditions related to fuel transportation.
