Class A CDL Driver
This role involves safely operating a Class A CDL tractor-trailer to deliver building materials to customer locations, dealers, and job sites across local and regional routes. You will handle loading and unloading, maintain accurate documentation, and provide professional, customer-focused service while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer to deliver building materials to customer locations, dealers, and job sites, averaging 13–15 stops per day, including occasional routes to neighboring states such as Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Indiana.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe, compliant, and ready for operation.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload products in accordance with company safety standards and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). delivery orders, manifests, and customer paperwork for accuracy before and after each delivery.
- Navigate local and regional delivery routes safely while maintaining on-time performance and adhering to traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers to provide route updates, delivery status, and notice of any potential delays.
- Assist with unloading products using forklifts, truck-mounted forklifts, or other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and all required transportation documentation, including electronic logs when applicable.
- Provide exceptional customer service at every stop and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Follow all company policies, traffic laws, and safety procedures to promote a safe work environment.
- Handle and move building materials safely, including lifting items weighing 80–100 pounds as required.
- Work independently to manage time, routes, and delivery priorities efficiently while maintaining dependable attendance.
Essential Skills
- Valid Class A CDL license.
- Clean driving record with the ability to meet all DOT requirements.
- Ability to safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer in a variety of driving and weather conditions.
- Capability to lift and handle 80–100 pounds of building materials when required.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Experience using basic technology for electronic logs and transportation systems.
- Effective communication skills to interact with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers.
- Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
- Dependable attendance, reliability, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screening requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience delivering building materials such as lumber, roofing, siding, windows, or other construction products.
- Experience with flatbed trailers and load securement practices.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment.
- Experience operating a truck-mounted forklift.
- Familiarity with local and regional routes throughout Ohio and surrounding states.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Prior experience in distribution, logistics, or wholesale building products.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing delivery priorities.

Work Environment
This is a direct placement, full-time driving position based out of North Jackson, OH. The schedule runs Monday through Friday with no weekend work, and start times typically range between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., with overtime available as business needs require. You will operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer and may use forklifts and truck-mounted forklifts or other material-handling equipment for loading and unloading.
The work is physically demanding and involves frequent lifting of 80–100 pounds, as well as working in outdoor environments at customer sites, dealers, and job locations. The role requires adherence to DOT regulations, electronic logging, and company safety policies, while maintaining a professional appearance and conduct when interacting with customers and team members.

Pay and Benefits
