CDL-A Local Yard Driver — Home Every Day

We have an immediate opening on our local bakery fleet for a driver based in the Phoenix area who needs to be home daily. This is an active, hourly position where you will handle a mix of short-distance shuttling and yard switching instead of just sitting behind a wheel all shift.

Critical Account Status:
This operation has a zero-margin timeline because any delivery delays or on-site accidents will instantly halt production for the entire bakery facility. Due to how tight these schedules are, you must be ready to run completely solo immediately.

Job Breakdown :

Hourly Pay Rate:
Start at a baseline flat rate of $21.50 per hour.

Stop

Incentives:

Add $45.00 extra unload pay to your clock for every single stop completed.

Weekly Earnings Baseline:
Expect a stable gross average of $1,300 every single week.

The Route Loop:
You are running short-haul shuttle segments between the bakery plant and the distribution center, which sit roughly 7 miles apart.

Operational Duties:

• Yard Work:
  You'll swap trailers around at both locations. Making sure everything is sealed up tight and locked down before you roll is entirely on you.
• Backup Runs:
  If the bakery catches up and things get slow, you might jump on a quick local store delivery to make sure you still get your full shift hours.

Physical Demands:
This is a physical labor role. You will manage live loads and full hand unloads, using a built-in trailer liftgate to roll out bread trays and delivery carts.

Time Scheduling:

Home Time Frequency: 100% Home Daily. Finish your work and clock out to head home after every shift.

The Shift Structure:
This is a dedicated NIGHT SHIFT run. You must be comfortable with steady night driving and technical backing environments.

Calendar Setup:
Weekend dispatch is standard. Your days off might be split when you first join the fleet, but you can use your seniority over time to bid on consecutive off-days as they open up. Extra shifts are readily available if you want to pull in more hours.

Holidays & Facility Perks:
You are guaranteed off on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, while other calendar holidays depend on your schedule rotation. Secure onsite parking is provided for your personal vehicle and your tractor.

Minimum Standards:

Must hold a valid Class A CDL and a current DOT Medical Card.

Hiring Radius:
Must live within 50 miles of the Phoenix terminal hub (Zip Code: 85043).

Experience Baseline:
No trainees allowed. Requires 6+ months of OTR within the last 12 months, or 12 months of OTR within the last 5 years. Local Class A tractor-trailer or hostling experience counts directly toward this timeline.

Safety Screening:
Must pass a mandatory hair and urine drug analysis. Maximum of 4 driving jobs in the past year and zero major preventable accidents within the trailing 5 years.
