Special Education Teacher

A full-time Special Education teaching position is available in Ypsilanti, MI, serving K-12 students for the current school year. The contract runs from ASAP through June 5, 2026.

This role requires working with varied caseloads, including elementary-level ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and CI (Cognitive Impairment) classrooms, as well as 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th grade general education classrooms. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting and educating students with special needs in a structured academic environment.

• Active Michigan Special Education license with a CI or ASD endorsement.
• Experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Cognitive Impairment.
• Ability to manage classrooms across multiple grade levels within a K-12 setting.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to individualized student growth.
• Capability to collaborate with school staff and families for student success.

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to student needs within CI and ASD classrooms.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Monitor and document student progress.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings as required.

Schedule:

Full-time, school-year contract (ASAP June 5, 2026)
