The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work closely with Accounting faculty to support academic, instructional, and departmental activities. Responsibilities may include assisting with tutoring in the Tutoring Center, supporting course‑related tasks, contributing to academic initiatives, and performing duties that advance the mission of the Department of Accounting and Eastern Michigan University.
Period of Employment:
August 2026–April 2027. Second‑year appointment is contingent on performance, academic success, and resources.
Graduate Assistants receive a stipend and a tuition waiver
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Support staff, faculty members and students in the classroom and/or with grading, materials prep, data entry and related activities within the department’s academic specialties.
- Responsible for tutoring, working with students on learning strategies, and other activities supporting student learning and student retention in the Department of Accounting and Finance.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week (100% graduate assistantship) is required
- An earned Bachelor's degree is required
- GPA of 3.0 or higher is required
- Maintenance of a 67% course completion is required
- Admission and enrollment in a graduate program at Eastern Michigan University is required
- Enrollment in at least 6 graduate credits during each semester is required
- Teaching and/or Tutoring experience is helpful
