The Game Above College of Technology, School of Technology and Professional Services Management (STPSM) invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in the Business Management Marketing Technology Program. The appointment will start in the Fall 2026 semester.
The successful applicant will teach a hybrid section (asynchronous/synchronous via Zoom class meetings) of Principles of Career and Technical Education —BMMT 251 and, depending on availability, other possible courses.
The primary professional responsibility of the Employee is teaching. Employees are expected to develop and maintain their professional skills in order to ensure high quality education for their students.
Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
Perform related departmental duties as required.
A Master of Science or addition, the applicant must have a current CTE endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidate holds a full teaching credential in business, (GQ) or industrial education, (TE) or related education subject area.
Knowledge of Career and Technical Education (CTE) curriculum across multiple occupational areas, including associated safety and ethical considerations. Demonstrated understanding of effective lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional best practices. This course is aligned with Michigan Department of Education CTE standards.
The ability to design a supportive and interactive learning environment, encouraging student participation, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Provide constructive feedback on student work to enhance understanding and application of concepts.
The department/school may approve exceptions or equivalencies that demonstrate a relative background in academic research and/or professional accomplishments on a case-by-case basis.
