Special Education Resource Room - Teacher Consultant

This position is for a Teacher Consultant at Ypsilanti Community High School. The role reports to the Building Principal and Special Education Supervisor. The salary range is $44,450.00 - $54,150.00.

The candidate must have a valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate certification, a special education endorsement, two years of teaching experience with at least one year in special education, and a master's degree for the Teacher Consultant position.

The main responsibilities include consulting with general education staff on adaptations and intervention strategies, providing support and instruction in the general education classroom, developing instructional behavior plans, evaluating student achievement, managing student materials, maintaining special education records, participating in various teams and meetings, and assisting students in developing study skills and work habits.

The successful candidate will possess language skills to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, mathematical skills to apply concepts in practical situations, and reasoning ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions. They should also have the ability to apply current research to instructional programs, plan and implement lessons, and establish effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.

The physical demands include standing, talking, hearing, walking, sitting, bending, and interacting with the public and other staff in a moderate to loud noise environment.
