Part Time Lecturer
The Eastern Michigan University School of Music & Dance invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer in Dance. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Dance on an as-needed basis. Please note that this part-time appointment (salaried only, no benefits) requires in-person instruction on Eastern Michigan University's campus in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Teaching includes class instruction in Dance courses, as needed and based on the successful candidate's expertise. Teaching may also include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
MFA in Dance or equivalent
Professional experience in at least one modern dance company; priority given to national (outside of Michigan) companies
Record of exceptional teaching, master classes, and guest residencies. This artist must be a teacher first--able to reach and inspire the next generation of dance artists.
