Commissioning Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer or Project Manager to support the installation, startup, and commissioning of equipment and mission‑critical infrastructure for the construction of a large‑scale Data Center in the Ann Arbor area. This role will be responsible for ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with design intent, safety standards, and project requirements.

• Support commissioning and installation of critical Data Center systems and infrastructure
• Provide technical oversight and coordination with vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional teams across the following systems:
  Medium & Low Voltage Power Distribution;
  Generators & UPS Systems; HVAC & Chilled Water Systems;
  Pumps & Piping;
  Battery Management Systems (BMS);
  Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS);
  Racks, Panels, Cable Trays, and Conduits
• Develop, review, and validate electrical/mechanical system test procedures and integrated commissioning documentation to ensure compliance with Basis of Design (BOD), specifications, industry standards, and sequences of operation
• Enforce strict adherence to all commissioning safety practices and policies
• Perform ongoing audits of commissioning activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards
• Proactively collaborate with Owners, Engineering teams, and Suppliers to develop and execute all required commissioning test documentation
• Provide comprehensive weekly reporting on project status, risks, lessons learned, and program improvements
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules while ensuring deliverables are completed on time

• 10+ years of commissioning and/or installation experience involving automation or manufacturing equipment, or large industrial/commercial building systems, including:
• Electrical Power Distribution & Switchgear Generators & Power Systems
• HVAC & Chilled Water
• Battery Management Systems (BMS)
• Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) Racks, Conduits. Raceways, Cable Tray
• 10+ years of relevant discipline experience;
  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering strongly preferred
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, or controls systems supporting critical infrastructure
• Ability to interpret design intent through drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, and sequences of operation
• Experience reviewing vendor commissioning test plans, scripts, and reports for compliance and accuracy
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to read and edit construction/design documentation using CAD
• Experience developing and executing mechanical and electrical testing procedures
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to perform effectively in high‑pressure construction and commissioning environments
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems for mission‑critical facilities

• Ability to walk active construction sites, climb stairs, and work at heights
• Capable of performing physical tasks throughout the workday
• Willingness to work overtime as required
• Comfortable working in construction and variable temperature environments
  
  Must be available to work onsite 5–6 days per week
• Reliable transportation required for daily travel to the project site
