Embroidery Operator - 1st Shift

Overview

Underground Printing (UGP) is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Embroidery Machine Operator for the Ypsilanti production facility and warehouse. This is an entry-level position with room for advancement. The starting pay is $16 per hour with opportunities for advancement every 6 months and on-the-job paid training. This role is in a production-based, high-output environment and involves producing custom decorated garments using Tajima Embroidery Machines.

This is not a design position; you will be making an actual product.

UGP supports both B2C and B2B customers through its network of stores and offices, and serves brands and licensors online as well.

• Operate Tajima Embroidery Machines to produce custom decorated garments in a fast-paced production setting.
• Contribute to meeting production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
• Work in a team environment and be able to stand for long periods while on the job.
• Adhere to training and safety procedures as part of daily duties.

• Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Apps.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator CS3 (and above) and Adobe Photoshop CS3 (and above) is a big plus.
• Ability to work on your feet all day and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team; strong attendance and work ethic.

Ten days of paid time off and 7 paid holidays for full-time team members. Opportunity for raises, promotions, and additional PTO. Full-time employees may join the 401(k) Plan with 4% employer matching. All team members receive a 40% discount and a casual dress code (jeans and a T-shirt permitted).

First shift runs 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Optional overtime opportunities are available.
