Position DescriptionThis position offers a skilled individual the unique technical opportunity of working within the Lottery Production team. The Comco 7 Operator will be responsible for the operation of the Comco Press attached to the Imager, printing all back copy and lily pad areas prior to Imaging. They will assist and support the Imager Operator and cross train for the Imager Operator, Comco 2nd and Comco Operator.
Ability to provide direction for the Machine Assistant working on the Press.
- Operate the equipment with an ability to maintain or exceed the required productivity levels coupled with low waste levels, ensuring product is printed in accordance with game specifications
- Ensure optimal equipment performance through proper set‑up, efficient changeovers, operation and preventative maintenance
- Assist with troubleshooting of Comco, Imager and peripheral equipment to insure highest quality can be attained
- Ability to provide leadership and direction to other employees
- Show initiative and innovation in recommending potential changes in procedures and participation in team projects
- Conduct pre‑shift and post‑shift equipment inspections; set‑up Comco and related equipment
- Assists and support the Imager Operator in all aspects of operating the press including maintaining register, consistency and general print quality, make‑ready and preventative maintenance procedures
- Trains others to be proficient in the Comco 7 Operator daily accountabilities, duties and responsibilities and fully participates and stays current in training for the Comco Operator, Comco 2nd and Imager Operator positions and steps in as back up when assigned
- Performs work in accordance with all Safety rules, safe work practices and applicable regulations reports unsafe work practices and conditions
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work for sustained periods of time, walking and standing, lifting pushing and pulling up to 70 lbs. repetitively
- Flexographic printing experience
- Demonstrated reliability (attendance) and ability to be self-driven and require little supervision
- Prior leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform as a qualified Machine Assistant
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Intermediate computer skills: experience using a database or spreadsheet software and accurately entering data
- Demonstrated ability to review/understand game specifications and translate that information to help set up the press
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co‑workers and work in order to direct a team
- Demonstrated ability to calculate good lineal feet ran on a roll
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and identify mechanical and printing related problems
- Differentiate between colors to ensure and maintain quality, security and customer standards. Understands what passes our security tolerances and why
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Understanding of and consistent adherence to Health & Safety, Quality and Security policies
- Meets attendance criteria as noted in APP
- Demonstrate ability to pay attention to detail and produce accurate work
- Demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain productivity to meet production deadlines
- Ability to document all test and inspection records and complete all other logs and production reports
- Ability to cross train others
