Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role includes determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results, and providing center‑level support for environmental, health and safety.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical interview, acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing physician standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation needs under occupational health/ER and EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• State‑required basic IV therapy training.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital setting experience.

$25.60 - $35.20

The estimated hourly wage range reflects the anticipated range for this position. The actual wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications and location. The wage offered will comply with applicable state or local minimum wage requirements.
