Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is recruiting a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and is responsible for donor eligibility assessment, adverse event management, laboratory test results review, and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance, ensuring donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents, determining if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required and referencing EHS guidance on employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate recognition of a nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Completion of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successfully complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and LocationLocation: USA - MI - Ypsilanti
Hourly Wage Range: $35.20 - $48.40
The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
