Job Overview

Michigan Heart Clinic—Triage RN (Part‑time, Day Shift). Provide clinical support and expertise to cardiac patients and staff. Triage test results to physicians and patients, serve as liaison, document in the patient’s electronic health record, review labs and work with the team, and intervene when abnormal cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and symptoms are present.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive triage and patient education.

Act as liaison among patients, primary care physicians, and Michigan Heart physicians.

Document medical information in the patient’s electronic health record.

Review lab and test results and collaborate with team assistant.

Recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and symptoms; intervene per protocols and report abnormal findings to cardiologist and team members.

Assess walk‑in patients to determine need for office visit or telephone follow‑up.

Demonstrate dependability and flexibility related to work schedule.

Perform ECGs and other nurse visits as ordered by Michigan Heart physicians/providers.

Assist patients in obtaining medication authorization.

Refill medications per protocol.

Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships, approach conflict constructively, identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in resolution.

Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician, employee, and visitor information; discuss only among appropriate personnel in private places.

Ensure safe performance of job duties, report hazards and unsafe practices to management.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree—Preferred.

Experience

At least 3 years of cardiac nursing experience. Demonstrated competence in cardiac arrhythmia recognition.

Certifications & Licensure

Michigan nursing license. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Additional certification required for pharmacological stress testing in regional office locations.
