Specialized Nursing Care In Imc, Pcu, Or Stepdown Unit
Provide specialized nursing care in an IMC, PCU, or stepdown unit, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through skilled clinical practice and compassionate support. The role involves closely monitoring patients with complex medical needs and administering appropriate treatments.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions frequently to identify changes requiring intervention.
- Administer chemotherapy, including vesicant and non-vesicant therapies, following proper safety protocols.
- Complete required oncology courses such as ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy to ensure safe medication administration.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and revise individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, side effects, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, including certification and ongoing training requirements.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active RN license in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Demonstrate experience or familiarity with oncology, chemotherapy administration, or stepdown care.
- Be certified or willing to complete the ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course.
- Possess strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills.
- Show ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
