Specialized Nursing Care Opportunity
Provide specialized nursing care in the IMC, PCU, or Stepdown unit, focusing on patients requiring close monitoring and skillful interventions. Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to promote patient recovery and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' conditions to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy where applicable, following certification requirements.
- Complete necessary oncology courses, such as ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy, for chemotherapy administration.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments, especially for patients on chemotherapy infusions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, especially concerning chemotherapy procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license and current state licensure.
- Experience in oncology, IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units preferred.
- Certification in ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy or OCN certification highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to complete unit-specific oncology courses and orientation.
- Proficiency in administering medications and chemotherapy safely.
