Truck Driver - Class A (Days)
Location: Ypsilanti, MI (CM Detroit Office, 2246)
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 4–5 day work week based on Hours of Service.
Position
Purpose:
The driver operates a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food‑related products to customers safely and timely, in compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). The driver communicates professionally with customers, vendors and coworkers, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
- Perform all required safety checks, including pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of tractor/trailer per DOT regulations and company standards.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines and policies.
- Immediately report any safety hazards and ensure freight is properly loaded and secured.
- Check customer invoices, count items, and complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule, unloading products and securing freight.
- Verify deliveries, obtain signatures, and collect funds when required.
- Load customer returns onto the trailer, secure doors, and ensure all equipment is locked and secured.
- Unload damaged goods or returns, bring them to driver check‑in, and complete necessary paperwork.
- Remove trash from trailers and keep the loading dock area clean and organized.
- Record hours of service daily and enter logs in compliance with Federal DOT, state and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor cab, loading dock area, and trailers.
- Complete all required paperwork at the end of each shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of tractor‑trailer experience.
- Valid CDL‑A license.
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Possess or be able to obtain a current DOT Health Card.
- Ability to hand‑lift and use lift gates, two‑wheelers and other equipment to move and stack product cases weighing 10–90 pounds.
- At least 1 year of food service distribution or tractor‑trailer experience.
- Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., People Net).
- Experience with handheld point‑of‑delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD).
- Customer‑service related experience.

Drivers earn between $70,000 and $75,000 per year.
