Mechanics Bank is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our on‑site teller team. The role requires accurate transaction processing, excellent customer service, and compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Process routine teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, and transfers.
  • Maintain account maintenance tasks such as account reconcilement, statement copies, check orders, account closures, address changes, stop payments, debit card maintenance, and safe deposit box entrances.
  • Provide exemplary customer service in person and over the phone, identify additional product needs, and make proactive product recommendations.
  • Handle cash supply, balance cash at the end of each shift, review transactions for fraud red flags, and maintain awareness of criminal scams.
  • Complete administrative and compliance tasks including data processing for regulatory reports (e.g., Currency Transaction Reports, Reg CC), assist with branch audit functions, and complete required compliance reports by assigned due dates.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of deposit products and services.
  • One year of customer service and cash handling experience in a customer‑facing role required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively as a team member, and make decisions using available information.
  • Knowledge of applicable bank policies and procedures, and basic understanding of loan requests and additional service referrals.
