Special Education Teacher
Special Education Teacher for elementary students in a 39-week contract in Yreka, California. Responsible for delivering specialized instruction, managing IEPs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support student success. Earn up to $60 per hour with premium pay and comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide specialized instruction and lead classroom activities for elementary Self-Contained students
- Independently manage the IEP process, including writing goals and attending meetings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and related service providers to support student progress
- Supervise and partner with paraprofessionals to implement instructional and behavioral supports
- Conduct progress monitoring and reporting to inform ongoing instructional decisions
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education or equivalent
- California Mild/Mod Education Specialist credential and other active special education credentials
- Minimum 1 year of special education teaching experience
- Strong experience with the IEP process and writing IEP goals
- Experience supporting TK–12 learners in specialized day or Self-Contained settings with an elementary focus
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and related service providers
- Experience supervising paraprofessionals and supporting students with diverse disability profiles
- Strong commitment to teamwork, communication, and treating staff as part of the team
