The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part‑time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

- Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis.
- As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employee’s responsibility.
- Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Job DescriptionBasic Function: The person selected will be expected to:
- Teach the range of Human Services courses in the Yuba Community College District curriculum.
- Prepare course syllabi and outlines.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the human services curriculum, including transfer/articulation agreements with colleges and universities; develop and assess course and program‑level SLOs.
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments primarily at Yuba College.
- Work cooperatively with staff in related disciplines.
- Some participation in department, division, and college‑wide committees and meetings.
- Participate in the shared‑governance process.
- Assist with developing program reviews, annual updates and other reports that contribute to the YCCD Continuous Quality Improvement Model.
- Attend required meetings and maintain positive relationships with the area Alcohol and Drug Studies and Human Services Communities and Advisory Committees.
- Assist with supervise of student interns and intern sites as necessary.
- Attend relevant college meetings pertaining to the Human Services/Addiction Studies program.
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in the various disciplines listed below at California Community Colleges.
- Master’s in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology,
OR - Possess a California Community College life credential in the subject matter areas listed above.
- Equivalency Requirement: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date.
