Position Overview
We are seeking an art teacher to work with a young client who has ASD and OCD. The role involves teaching art once a week, in partnership with a team of two staff members. Training will be provided for applicants with art knowledge and a caring, open-mind approach.
Responsibilities- Plan and conduct art lessons for 1 day per week (10:00 am–3:00 pm or 12:00 pm–5:00 pm).
- Collaborate with two additional staff members assigned to the client at a time.
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of a client with ASD and OCD, and to manage challenging behaviors.
- Experience teaching art.
- Patience, open-mindedness, and a caring attitude.
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders or experience working with individuals on the spectrum.
- Ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
Pay range: $23 to $26 per hour, based on skill level and experience with special needs care.
