Fractional HR Director

Remote (with occasional on-site visits in Yucaipa, CA)

Part Time: 45-65 hours per month

Compensation: $90-$125 per hour (DOE)

BBSI has partnered with a well-established and rapidly growing quick-service restaurant brand and is seeking an experienced Fractional HR Director to provide both strategic and hands-on HR leadership for a values-driven organization of approximately 95 team members. This role is ideal for a senior HR professional who thrives in autonomous environments, builds structure where it doesn t yet exist, and ensures compliance while supporting leaders and teams.

This leadership role requires a proactive approach to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HR program implementation to support the company s growth and organizational objectives.

• Design, implement, and oversee HR policies, processes, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with California employment laws and training requirements
• Lead employee relations and disciplinary processes with consistency and care
• Oversee Workers  Compensation claims and benefits administration
• Maintain accurate HR records and reporting systems
• Conduct offboarding and exit interviews to identify trends and improvements
• Partner closely with ownership and leadership on HR strategy and execution

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience with strong California compliance expertise
• Proven ability to build and execute HR processes independently
• Experience managing employee relations, Workers  Comp, and benefits
• Confident coach who can influence and hold leaders accountable
• Experience in QSR, hospitality, or multi-unit environments
• HR certification (SHRM/PHR) and HR tech experience preferred
• Experience building HR functions from the ground up in smaller or growing organizations
