Role Description This full-time, on-site Nurse Practitioner role is based at YUCCA FAMILY MEDICAL CARE, INC. in Yucca Valley, CA. The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care, including performing health assessments, diagnosing and managing common acute and chronic conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications as appropriate, conducting follow-up visits, and delivering preventive care such as screenings, immunizations, and patient education.

The role involves collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate care, maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, and support quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Practitioner will also participate in patient counseling, promote wellness and disease prevention, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and compliant clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license (NP) in the state of California and national board certification (e.g., FNP, ANP, or equivalent).
  • Experience providing primary care or family medicine services in an outpatient or clinic setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (ECW) and basic clinical technologies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to manage a steady patient caseload, prioritize tasks, and maintain organized, accurate documentation.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent advanced practice nursing education.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Experience in rural or community healthcare settings helpful.
