Job DescriptionJob Title: Staff Accountant

Supervisor: Director of Accounting
Job Type: Full-time, 8am-5pm (Monday - Friday)
Pay Rate: $20- $24 (Based off experience)

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. They will strive to understand the organization as a whole in order to interact effectively with and provide assistance to all levels of the company. Day-to-day activities will be executed with guidance and direction from Accounting Management relative to overall organizational goals and objectives to be achieved.
Completed work is reviewed in terms of accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of the function and completion of goals. The exercise of sound accounting principles and good judgment is a must.
- Prepare and issue invoices for applicable business segments.
- Meet processing and reporting deadlines consistently.
- Report to the Finance/Business Manager and work to improve financial processes.
- Respond to information requests from management and assist with the annual audit.
- Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, identify, report and correct errors timely.
- Assist with other accounting projects assigned.
- Completion of various accounting projects and financial analysis.
- Provide assistance with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Implement and follow accounting standards and controls as developed by or in conjunction with the Director of Accounting.
- Month End Closings:
Journal entries, A/P accruals, inventory adjustments, review P&L’s – compare to budget and investigate variances, income recognition. - Assist in contract completion with Residents
- Demonstrate effective analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Fundamental understanding of business processes, general ledger accounting and financial statements preparation.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office suite) including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to use computer skills in spreadsheet software, to expedite accounting procedures.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Be dependable/reliable and follow through on commitments, producing timely work and pitching in to get the job completed with quality and precision.
- Be attentive to detail and monitor adherence to company standards.
- Minimum of two years’ experience or education in accounting and/or associate degree in accounting.
- Presentation skills required.
- $20.00 to $24.00 based on qualifications
