About Green Li-ionGreen Li-ion is seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to support its Atoka, Oklahoma facility—North America’s first commercial‑scale plant producing battery‑grade materials from recycled lithium‑ion batteries. The facility utilizes Green Li-ion’s patented GREEN HYDROREJUVENATION™ technology to process unsorted lithium‑ion battery waste (“black mass”) into high‑purity precursor cathode active material (pCAM) and anode materials.
Role OverviewThe Technical Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership for the optimization, scale‑up, and commercialization of hydrometallurgical processes at the Atoka plant. This role bridges process engineering, manufacturing execution, and operational readiness, ensuring technologies successfully transition from late‑stage development through full manufacturing readiness. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience advancing technologies from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 9 through Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) 7 and is comfortable working onsite and traveling to Atoka, Oklahoma as required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of chemical and hydrometallurgical processes.
- Drive the transition of processes from TRL 9 into full Manufacturing Readiness (MRL) 7, supporting commercial‑scale production.
- Provide technical leadership to engineering teams supporting plant operations, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with operations, R&D, quality, and EH&S teams to improve plant performance, reliability, and product quality.
- Analyze process data to identify performance gaps, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and internal engineering best practices.
- Support scale‑up activities, process documentation, and technical risk assessments for fixed plant operations.
- Review, develop, and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in process engineering within industrial, chemical, or battery‑related manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience advancing technologies from TRL 9 through Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Experience with hydrometallurgical processes or battery materials is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, HYSYS, and ASPEN Plus.
- Strong understanding of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Experience with onsite commissioning and maintenance of fixed plant operations is a plus.
- Must be able to travel to Atoka, Oklahoma and work onsite as required.
