Performs police patrol, investigations, traffic regulation and related law enforcement activities. Protects life and property of the citizens of the community, following the mission and values of the department

• Patrol of area.
• Answering calls for service.
• Investigation of criminal acts.
• Operation of a computer terminal.
• Operation of electronic devices.
• Communication via mobile radio.
• Effect arrest of violators.
• Investigation of traffic collisions.
• Carry out duties of the department.
• Serve on special units.
• Interview victims and suspects.
• Attend training.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

• Between the ages of 21 and 45, unless currently active in Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• No felony or domestic violence convictions.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must pass physical agility test, written exam, oral interview, polygraph and extensive background investigation.
• Must pass Police Pension board physical and pre-employment drug screening. Including Psychological exam.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Salary – $63,058 (starting) - $108,352 (top non-supervisor pay with annual step raises)
• Retirement – Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System – 20 years at 60% of pay
• Insurance – Health & Dental (member insurance is paid for by the city- family insurance cost is at reduced rate).
• Sick Leave & Personal Time Off (PTO) – Paid days off include holidays per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Officers work a 10-hour workday; 8 days worked followed by 6 days off; (every other weekend off)
• Take home vehicle for eligible officers (10-mile radius from Yukon Police Department)

• Longevity (after 3 yrs), Retention Incentive ($600 for every year worked), College degree incentive, College Tuition reimbursement, Firearms qualification incentive, CLEET Intermediate/Advanced incentive, Foreign Language and/or Sign Language incentive, holiday worked pay (1.5 reg. rate), Uniforms and Equipment provided, Municipal and District Court Pay, Overtime and Call Back Pay, Shift Differential Pay, Specialized Unit Incentive (ex. Spec. Ops Team, Bicycle Team, Honor Guard) and more.

• Certified police officer annual benefit example:
  Bachelors Degree ($1,800), advanced CLEET ($1,200), Basic Instructor ($500), birthday check ($920.50), and share the savings ($3,900) totaling $8,320.50.

The City pays 100% of this benefit premium. Life insurance is your salary rounded to the next $1,000. Short-term disability is also part of this benefit.

40 hours pay for the week and a day off for your birthday during the pay period.

$ 250.00 - $ 500.00 - Paid in September of each year.

Associates Degree - $ 800.00 Annually

Bachelors Degree - $ 1,400.00 Annually
