The Nurse Aide at Atoka County Medical Center will provide essential support to nursing staff by assisting with patient care and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality of care and operational efficiency within the healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and report any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Support nursing staff in the preparation and administration of medications under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and common areas to promote a hygienic environment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and caring atmosphere.
- Transport patients safely to different areas within the facility using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state‑approved nurse aide training program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or nursing home.
- Experience in providing direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in basic medical and healthcare terminology.
- Compassionate and patient‑centered approach to care.

- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, moving, and assisting patients.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
