Job Purpose

The Nurse Aide at Atoka County Medical Center will provide essential support to nursing staff by assisting with patient care and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality of care and operational efficiency within the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and report any significant changes to nursing staff.
  • Support nursing staff in the preparation and administration of medications under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and common areas to promote a hygienic environment.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and caring atmosphere.
  • Transport patients safely to different areas within the facility using wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Adhere to all healthcare regulations and protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care.
Qualifications Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state‑approved nurse aide training program.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or nursing home.
  • Experience in providing direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities.
