Job DescriptionAs a Security Engineer with OMES you will enjoy

- Supports the Cyber Security Team.
- Salary is based on education and experience.
- Provide security engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of infrastructure and data systems.
- Validate system security requirements, definitions, and analysis.
- Recommend and design statewide security standards.
- Coordinate and support information security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Research and stay current on the latest information security technologies.
- Oversee specific technology solutions, develop associated product roadmaps, and solve issues escalated from Operations teams.
- Partner with industry leaders to provide world‑class information security services.
- Participate in Blue Team exercises and offer recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain Microsoft Intune device management policy.
- Manage Microsoft Azure/Entra AD security‑related policy.
- Mature enterprise vulnerability/patch management platform.
- Work closely with other service teams and agencies to resolve technical faults.
- Analyze industry trends, recommend improvements, draft reports, and implement changes.
This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND
- Security+ Certification AND
- 6 years of security experience OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience equal to 10 years.
- Industry‑recognized certification (CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in utilizing security‑relevant tools, systems, and applications (SMG, IPS, Proxy, CASB, Encryption, PAM, MFA/SSO, etc.)
- Power Shell, Bash, Python scripting, and coding abilities.
