Assistant General Counsel (Litigation & Claims Management)

The Classic Family of Dealerships in Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to support litigation and claims management across our dealership operations.

Manage and oversee consumer litigation, including DTPA and customer claims; handle auto accident, injury, and premises liability (slip-and-fall) matters
- Office located at 2561 SW Grapevine Parkway, Grapevine, TX
- Primarily in-office; limited hybrid flexibility
- Salary approximately $150,000 per year
- Fully paid employee health insurance

- CLE support, including one fully paid conference annually
- Manage and oversee consumer litigation, including DTPA and customer claims
- Handle auto accident, injury, and premises liability (slip-and-fall) matters
- Interface directly with insurance adjusters, third-party administrators, and insurance defense counsel
- Monitor outside counsel performance to ensure efficient and effective representation
- Personally defend dealership entities in small claims and related proceedings
- Travel approximately 1–2 days per month as needed for evidence gathering, hearings, or trial
- Report directly to executive leadership, with occasional interaction with the Board of Directors
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience
- Active Texas Bar license in good standing
- Plaintiff-side litigation experience is viewed favorably.
- Experience in employment or oil and gas matters is helpful but not required.
- Comfortable with pro hac vice practice in Oklahoma and Florida
- Demonstrated trial readiness and sound judgment regarding when to litigate versus settle
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with senior leadership
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident.
- Pre-employment background checks are required, including MVR, and drug screening.
